This week, we’re teleporting back a week to talk about and review the Covered Bridges Half Marathon in Woodstock/Quechee, VT!
This one was a beaut, guys. Accompanying pictures below. Not a PR, but easily one of my favorite races to date!

Reviews keep Bad Case of the Runs going guys—Thank you so much to everyone who has sent in a review! More reviews mean more people I can reach, which means more content o can provide, products, races to review, you name it.
iTunes, GooglePlay, Stitcher, CastBox…head to your podcast platform to submit a review. I read them all…and I’ve got stickers burning a hole in my fanny pack.
Email/Instagram/Facebook/Tweet me with a song, question, or just say ‘Hi’. I can’t tell you enough times how much I FUCKING love hearing from you! I love sending these stickers out to you fine, beautiful people!

3-Also, we talk about a funny tidbit about seeing someone I used to work with, probably a little dark. Oh well.
4-This weeks runs, starting with Millennium Running’s Cinco De Miles. No PR! But good times had by all, even if the course was hillier than advertised. That said, mama still has a long way to go on hills…
Followed by a 12 miler on Monday with a whole gaggle full of awesome women, some pushing their strollers with their far more behaved children ( I couldn’t trust mine for 12 MILES!)
Followed by a rest, finally, followed by 8 Miles on Wednesday…
Then another rest on Thursday for small birthday shindig which went later than planned, which inevitably made Friday a rest day because I crash and burned EARLY. Props to Concord Craft Brewing Company for their Nitro Jalepeno Ale, and their fabulous Double IPA-The Gov’Nah.
Which led to 5 on Saturday, and as I write this on Sunday at 9 PM, it remains to be seen if I’ll run tonight…dammit.
Couple of really cool things this week!
Ladies night at Millennium Running on Wednesday 5/16–Fashion Show with yours truly hitting the runway to model some spring running wear by all the running brands. Swing by from 5:30-8, Wine, shopping, and massages–yeah, buddy!
Then… on Sunday 5/20–I’ll be headed over to Rye for the Wallis Sands Half. If you see me hanging around, please say hello! A couple people from the 5k last week said they saw me, and I was like…DUDE! Say hi! Please, I’m forever socially awkward, so it’s all good. I’ll be out there with the same interval strategy for the first 4-5 miles, in hopes I might be able to hit another PR this year..and honestly, if it were less then 2:15, I’d dance a fucking jig.
Okay, product for this week…..REFLECTOES! I had been so pumped to check these out, so when the samples came I ripped the packed open and got right to running.
So—they are amazing. Comfortable, breathable, stays in place–Fucking bright at hell, what else can you ask for. They weren’t bulky and still had great structure and support, too. Listen to the episode for more details, but I highly recommend if you’re going to be out there for your morning or late night runs this summer. What’s another layer of safety…and for $11.99!

Here’s the another sighting in Phoenix!
Thanks, Gary!
Here’s the newer version for people interested–when you write in, you let me know which one you want 😉
Alright guys, keep kicking ass this week. We’ll talk next Monday.
As usual, we run down the week of running–a solid 23 mile week… and cover a local NH random 5k I did on a Friday night! It wasn’t an easy course by any means, but I so hope this smaller race gains some more momentum in years to come. If you love hills, the Angel 5k has one “question the meaning of life” type of hills right in the middle of it.
No, I did not PR…but I did place! 2nd in my age group! WOOT! With a 29:38…okay?
Also squeezed 2 group runs in this week, one which involved my friend Heather bringing her rad ass moped…and letting me ride it.
Another with my sister on Saturday for a gorgeous 3 on what SHOULD have been a rest day.
This week we talk a little about warm/hot weather running and tips for acclimating and staying safe. I know it was a long winter, so let’s talk about not blowing yourself up on a warm day run.
Product of the Week:
SaltStick’s FastChews! Easy to take running supplement to bring your Salt, Magnesium, Calcium, and Potassium back up–the big 4 lost when sweating. Verdict-I love ’em, and I’ve used them for 2-3 months now. Listen to the episode for more info!

‘TIl next week, ya’ll. We’ll talk another local BIG 5k–did I PR there? Subscribe and tune into see. 🙂
This week we go through my runs and how completely shitty one was physically, and on the other side of the coin how awful I felt mentally before another. Blech.
This week, we’re doing a Q & A, and I answering some running questions, but also some factoids about music, beer, and tattoos!
Hey all! I did something a little different this week, that maybe I’ll take on for all my race recaps depending how it goes.
1) I waited until the day of the half-marathon to record–which totally gave me anxiety..but I wanted my recap to be as authentic and as fresh to my memory as humanly possible. That said I still missed a few parts I wanted to mention–so if there are a few shitty jump cuts, sorry. I’m sure I’ll think of more cool shit I missed and have to touch on it next week.
2) I breezed past a specific product mention today since we’re recapping a race. That will be back in the original format next week.
So, the On The Run Half Marathon in Old Orchard Beach, ME!
A small race in it’s 2nd year in this seasonal town, with a pretty sweet pre-race food set-up of bagels, donuts, chocolate milk, coffee, water, bananas–I was pretty impressed. But…the start line wasn’t at the site of registration and bib pick-up? Okay-sure.
There were a few cons, for sure, if I had to pick out a few things–the start line thing, not a ton of communication before the race via email or social media, the finish line had cars coming in and out of the area which seemed like an oversight. Also, the finish line pictures cease after like 2:12ish. Really??? That was a bummer.
But all-in-all, easy to get to, flat (except for one minor uphill-which I’m barely complaining about, haha), good food set-up before and after, had a place to hang to stay warm (more important for family and friends if it had been particularly shitty out. AND—FREE PHOTOS. I mean, it took some communicating online to find them, but I did, and easily the most from any race. Yeah, the finish line pictures weren’t there for me–but oh, well.
See if you can find me in the starting photos….
Mile..like 7.5
Mile 13-finally focused and haulin’ that sweet ass…
TO A FUCKING PR! 2:18!!! YES!! After 2 kids, I beat my pre-preggo time of 2:25 back in 2013… 6 months post-partum. I will fucking take that everyday–I don’t even need water, it goes down that easily.
Again, listen to the episode for a better run down, these are the Cliff’s Notes version.
Don’t forget, ya’ll–our runner sister, Lindsey is doing the Out of the Darkness Overnight walk in June and is BUSTING ASS trying to raise money. If you can, please head over to her page and donate to this very important cause.
….and of course, my favorite long run pre-race fuel…Hee Bee Geebs Granola! Email HeeBeeGeebs now for $1 off per bag when you mention the Bad Case of the Runs podcast!
Thank you guys who sent me EVEN more songs this week. Keep sending them! I have stickers–and I’ll pop one in the mail if you do! Who doesn’t want one of these!?

This episode is a quick intro to me and A Bad Case of the Runs. Running with a little bit of real life mixed in. Unfiltered, dumpster fire language, so NSFW….I mean, prolly…
